In our film, we casted Christian a thoughtful, shy person that reacts naturally awkward to situations. Gianni, a confident, social humorous person which creates a contrast with Chris. And Janiya, the friendly approachable, independent person who serves as the romantic interest for both of them.
These casting decision shape the story, for example Christian, subtle facial expressions in timing of dialogue, require careful editing to emphasize his attraction to her Gianni's exaggeration gestures and attitude, need pacing and short reaction to highlight the comedic elements of the scene.
Also, I learned a good casting creates chemistry between the actors which is essential and drama and romance, and as the editor I enhance this chemistry by emphasizing natural interactions.
